The Eagle Scout Project

For Tyler's Eagle Scout Project, he decided to make marker holders for Primary Children's Medical Center.

First, Tyler and his dad had to cut the pieces of wood, then he invited some friends over to sand

and drill.

We had a combined activity where the young men and young women painted and decorated them with stickers.

Here is Tyler quickly sending off a text before getting started.

The kids did a great job -- I was really impressed with their creativity.

Here is a finished picture of Tyler's marker holder:

We took them up to Primary Children's Medical Center last week. We ended up with 24 marker holders in all. Marie, the director, was very excited to see that we had so many.

A big thanks to all those who donated their time and money in helping put this project together. Especially our Scout Master, without him, I am not sure we could have accomplished any of this!

Julie - I just found your blog from your Facebook profile. You have such a cute family! We have a boston terrier too, but he seems to be HUGE compared to yours, he last weighed in at 31 pounds. Don't you just love blogging, it is one of my favorite things to do, even though I don't get around to it as much as I would like! (And I am quite boring and don't have much to write about!)

Way to go Tyler. Getting your eagle scout is quite an accomplishment. It looks like he has a little of Tom Sawyer in him too. They look great.

Congrats on the Eagle Scout Project. I always think when a boy gets it that they should give another one to the mom and dad for all they did to help get it done. What a great idea--they turned out great.

We are so proud of Tyler! I was surprised to hear that all of the YM/YW did a "great" job on the painting. ?? (just kidding!)
